Legend Saleratus™ is a zero phosphate buffer to lower pH and buffer with Legend Al-Qali™. Both buffers are designed for the planted aquarium or for very hard water where phosphate buffers may pose an algae or cloudiness problem. Legend Saleratus™ lowers pH and buffers between 5.0 and 8.0 when used with Legend Al-Qali™.  As Legend  Saleratus™ lowers pH it converts carbonate alkalinity (KH) into available CO2.

To lower pH, 5mL scoop (1 level teaspoon) of Legend Saleratus™ for every 100 L (26.5 US gallons) daily until desired pH is reached (this dose lowers alkalinity by about 0.6 meq/L (1.7 dKH)). Larger doses may be required in very hard (KH) or alkaline waters.

In order to adjust pH gradually, or if water is soft or not well buffered, use Legend Saleratus™ with Legend Al-Qali™. When using Legend Al-Qali™ & Legend Saleratus™ together to target a specific pH.

Direction: First determine the amount of Legend Al-Qali™ needed for the volume of water. This should be determined based on your desired alkalinity (KH). Then, divide by the number in the middle column to obtain the correct amount of Legend Saleratus™ required.

This is based on use in RO or RO/DI water and ratios may need to be adjusted for use in tap water

Sizes: 300 mL, 600 mL, 1Kg, 1,5Kg 

Acid buffer to lower pH 

Dosage: 5mL (1 level teaspoon) of Legend Saleratus™ added per 100 L of tank water will drop the alkalinity by about 1.7 dKH.

For an established aquarium, remember to take this slowly as fish are very sensitive to pH changes.

Adding Legend Saleratus™ will lower the pH, but keep in mind that it will need to be lowered constantly (you can’t suddenly lower it once and forget about it). You also need to be careful not to add too much at one time and cause a severe drop as this can kill your fish. It is best to gradually adjust the pH if you decide it needs to be adjusted.

Dosage: 2g (1/4 teaspoon) of Legend Saleratus™ in 100mL of water, daily

Direction:

Dissolve 2g (1/4 teaspoon) of Legend Saleratus™ in 100mL of water, daily until desired pH is reached (this dose lowers alkalinity by about 0.2 meq/L (0.6 dKH)) adding it gently to the high flow area

First determine the amount of Al-Qali™ needed for the volume of water. This should be determined based upon your desired alkalinity (KH). Then, divide by the number in the middle column to obtain the correct amount of Saleratus™ required.
